High Frequency occupies Funan’s Level 1 Atrium from 31 August to 6 September 2026, 10am to 10pm. Funan presents it. Vertical Submarine curates it. The official CapitaLand listing puts a retro media installation, a beginner DJ workshop, Beats and Doodles sessions, live DJs, and an art market of 27-plus illustrators in the same floor plate. Free to walk in. The DJ workshop needs a Microsoft Forms signup.
What sits in the atrium all week
The spine of the week is a retro media wall by Vertical Submarine. CapitaLand describes posters and analog kit staged as a nostalgic broadcast station. Vertical Submarine is the Singapore collective that has been programming Funan’s Creative Intersections strand for years, including last winter’s Memory Circuits show at #04-22. If you already walked that show, this is the same curator, a different frequency, downstairs in the atrium instead of a gallery unit.
Beats and Doodles runs 5 and 6 September at 11am, 2pm, and 5pm. Cherry Chan takes 11am and 5pm. Hojyn takes 2pm. Hojyn already showed at Memory Circuits. The weekend art market is 6pm to 10pm both days, listed as independent art and illustration plus live DJ sets. Named stalls on the official page:
- Anna Du Toit
- BLACKBOOK STUDIO with BoonBaked and Toko Beings
- Deniseardenise
- Groove Distortion
- ROLLROUND
- LOVE IS NOTHING
- New World Plaza
- Shiaaaan
- Youngmothbf
That is nine named tables. The “27-plus illustrators” line on the same page is the wider market, not nine people. Expect more names on the floor than on the website.
DJ workshop and weekend sets
AlphaTheta runs a beginner DJ workshop on Thursday 4 September, 7pm to 9pm. Signup is a Microsoft Form linked from the CapitaLand event page. Capacity is not published. If you want a seat, fill the form before the weekend crowd shows up. AlphaTheta is Pioneer DJ’s current brand. This is not a Cristofori class. Cristofori Music Experiential Center already sits in Funan as a standing tenant if you want lessons after the atrium programme ends.
Saturday 5 September DJs, from 6pm: Kiat, Hammy, Zai, Darren Dubwise, one hour each. Sunday 6 September: Leland, Kiat, Darren Dubwise, Aresha. City Hall MRT is the nearest station. The atrium is loud after 6pm. Weekday mornings are for the media wall if you actually want to read the posters.
Singapore Night Festival 2026 still runs in the Bras Basah Bugis precinct through 5 September, with a zone mapped from Funan to CHIJMES. That is a separate National Heritage Board programme, 7pm to 10pm on festival nights. High Frequency is the mall’s own daytime-to-late atrium show. You can do both without leaving the block. Do not treat Night Festival as a Funan ticket.
How to use the mall around it
Funan’s tech floors do not close for an atrium art week. DJI, Logitech G, and the rest of the IT directory stay open. If you are here for COMEX at Suntec 3 to 6 September, this is the nearby mall for a break, not a second IT fair. The art market is prints and illustration, not SSD deals.
CapitaStar still applies on tenant receipts. The atrium stalls may or may not scan. Pay cash or PayNow at artist tables unless they post otherwise. Food is upstairs and in the basement, not in the market. The installation runs through closing on 6 September. After that the atrium reverts to whatever CapitaLand books next.
