Smile Dessert at Funan Mall transforms the traditional café experience into an Instagram-worthy adventure through their distinctive silver-themed aesthetic and innovative dessert offerings that combine visual spectacle with authentic flavors. As part of a globally renowned franchise boasting over 1,500 outlets across 300 countries, this Singapore location represents the brand's creative evolution in presenting traditional Chinese desserts alongside modern innovations in an aesthetically striking environment designed for social media engagement and memorable dining experiences. The Funan outlet's elegant silver theme creates a sophisticated backdrop for enjoying signature items like their famous Matcha Lava Cake and Black Swan Soufflé, where presentation artistry rivals traditional fine dining establishments.
The menu showcases creative interpretations of Asian desserts including Purple Sweet Potato Smoothie ($7.90), Watermelon and Durian Smoothies, elaborate Korean Bingsu ($16.90-$18.90), traditional desserts ($6.90), and artistic cakes ($7.90-$12.90) that demonstrate technical precision and cultural fusion. Signature experiences include the Matcha Lava Cake, featuring layers of matcha sponge, whipped cream, chocolate crunch, sweet red beans, and cascading matcha lava cream that creates dramatic visual theater when served, and the Black Swan Soufflé with black sesame cream, brown sugar shavings, and upside-down vanilla ice cream presentation that exemplifies the brand's commitment to experiential dining rather than mere sustenance.
Operating daily from 11:00 AM to 3:00 AM, Smile Dessert accommodates diverse schedules while maintaining its appeal as a destination for special occasions, social gatherings, and unique photo opportunities rather than everyday dining. The café's philosophy centers on creating shareable moments through visually stunning environments and Instagram-worthy presentations that encourage social media documentation and community engagement. While the aesthetic experience takes precedence over traditional food quality metrics, Smile Dessert Funan successfully delivers what its target audience seeks: a unique, visually captivating environment where dessert becomes performance art and dining transforms into experiential entertainment that celebrates creativity, visual culture, and the growing importance of social media in modern hospitality.
Got the mango durian ice with rice balls—honestly, I don’t know how this could go wrong, but it did. The durian was just a frozen, stale block of ice, and the mango ice had barely any flavour. Every bite, I kept waiting for that burst of sweetness… but it never came. Imagine ordering a mango durian dessert and the best part turns out to be the rice balls. I’m just so confused by how unspectacular this was. MANGO AND DURIAN EH HOW

Located on the second floor of Funan shopping mall.
We ordered the chocolate soufflé, Oreo bingsu, as well as the mango pomelo sago. Being desserts they are super sweet, but not to the point that it’s off putting. Each dessert also contains many different components which contributes to the different textures and tastes.
Super huge portions of desserts that I recommended sharing with your friends.
The furnishing of the establishment is also unique and fun.

I did not order their dessert, so this review will be solely based on the drink.
The environment is definitely to attract kids. Large ball pool, cute lights and figurine. Despite it is a no shoe zone, it is extremely dirty. You need to wear a sock preferably.
The mango perfume lemon tea is great. Great lemon taste, great mango taste, and it is not so sweet.
It is rather quiet during weekdays, so it is the best time to sure to ensure you desserts are done properly.

Food is just ok, but could be improve.
Came here on sunday afternoon, quite a lot of people and took some time for our food to be ready.
The ambiance is unique because of the ballpit

Spotting a smoothing white/silver theme with instagramable interiors with a good size ball pit, you can prepare to enjoy a photoshoot/play session with your loved ones especially kids at @smiledessertsg_official . Look out for their comprehensive range of desserts and beverages such as souffle, lava cakes, bingsu, traditional desserts, fruit teas, waffles, smoothies etc here.
Tried their recently released desserts:
🍧 Cutie Bingsu $13.90: Portion was generous with a tall mountain of fine sliced ice flakes flavoured with yoghurt topped with chocolate ice cream bar and covered with a bed of hidden strawberry popping boba below. Delighted with mouthful of different sweet & sour flavours while I uncover layers of goodness.
🍯 Honey Souffle $18.90: Prepared fresh upon order wobbly & fluffy souffle served with strawberries & raisins and honey which we drizzled generously for a sweet treat.
🍠 Taro Tiramisu $12.90: Fluffy and moist! Delighted with the layer of smooth mashed taro in the middle. Taro lovers must to try this!
Not bad overall, just slightly pricy.

Really enjoyed their Tiramisu Souffle and Thai Style Snow Ice! Would love to come back again in the future ☺️
If you plan to go inside the ball pit, I’d recommend wearing socks :) The place could be pretty noisy when there’re lots of children playing in the ball pit 😅

I love the tiramisu souffle. It’s so soft and fluffy. The drinks are pretty decent too but don’t like the tacky tall plastic cups they use to serve the cold drinks.

Aesthetically beautiful and cool, like having desserts in space! Very instagrammable!
I like the idea of having a pool of plastic balls, in a silver theme cafe, very chill and great place to hangout with children, friends or family.
*Cutie Bingsu Yoghurt $14.90
*Taro Tiramisu $12.90
*Honey Soufflé $19.90
I like it that it's less sweet and the texture is really soft and flavourful.👍🏻

This is a good place to bring the kids for dessert. I tried the chocolate souffle. It's so fluffy and soft. So good. There's a big ball pit too so they can play while you chill out

Here are what we tried at Smile Dessert.
🍨 Cutie Bingsu
Choice of coconut or yogurt flavour selection. We had the yogurt flavour that refresh our tastebud with a sour note. You get a variety of flavours within the bingsu itself as it was topped with a vanilla icecream with chocolate and nut coating, and hidden surprise of red pearls that burst into strawberry juice in your mouth.
🥞 Honey Soufflé
Love these jiggly wiggly soufflé pancake. Fluffy and airy, it almost feel like biting into the cloud when you are eating them. They are so good on its own, yet the strawberries, whip cream and honey elevate the flavours into another level.
🍰 Classic Tiramisu
Sweet mascarpone cream and soft lady fingers sponge, for people who love tiramisu, this is going to be your go to dish.
Besides their wide variety of desserts available, they also have a aesthetically pleasing ball pit to have for your instagram worthy shot.

i went there on 13 october at 9.30+pm and had an amazing dine in experience. As it’s my first time there and just looking for some dessert to satisfy my cravings, the male attendant at the cashier was very patient and polite and offered us options to choose from. Understanding that it was pretty late and the place was about to close, he recommended us to order it in a take away box as we may not have sufficient time to finish our dessert which would affect our dining experience! so considerate of him.
the female staff member was also very patient and friendly and served us with a smile.
thank you for making our day so much better and we will definitely be back for more!!

Ordered a bubble tea here but the bubble keep on stuck at the straw like a lot of times. Can improve on the bubble or bigger straw at least not stuck every time.
Place was ok, not that big but it has ball play for kids while parent eat dessert. Price was also ok.

Chanced upon this dessert shop at Funan which served drinks, cakes and bingsu!
Was quite surprised by the texture of the bingsu - very light and soft.
I thought it’d be too much but since it’s pretty light, 2 people can finish it without any issues.
I also love how they include rice crispies and chocolate shaves to “surprise” us.
A good spot for parents to bring their kids as there’s a ball pit here!

Popped by here and was in for a surprise! There’s a ball pit in the middle of the shop with seats and table within, enabling the kid in you to immerse in the environment that would otherwise prove inappropriate had you been in the indoor children playground 😂
I had their Honey Soufflé which was utterly airy and fluffy, almost cloud like. My only qualm was the accompanying honey which was rather uncommon and I much prefer maple syrup with my soufflé. The Coconut Bingsu had to be the star of the day with its cute presentation 🤩 the shaved ice were fine with what seemed like raspberry pops at the base of the shaved ice before it’s topped with a regular vanilla ice cream. The Taro Tiramisu had a stronger tiramisu flavour as the taro element got overpowered by the tiramisu. Nevertheless, the purple hue was still very nice to look at!
Am pretty sure this place will be a hit with kids as I’ve seen multiple kids running around the pit while I was there. Good way to tire them out so they go home and toh immediately 😂 parents please take note 🤭

it was a wonderful experience !
the bingsu was a very big portion, about 5pax at an affordable price of $17.90 whcih was good for sharing!
the smile coffee was soso only (do not recommend 😅)
the bubble tea was pretty average
the soufflé was quite a huge serving but tastes average as well
if you join their wechat group chat, you’re able to pick one out of 7 drinks to redeem for free !
went there at around 9pm on a wednesday so it wasn’t that crowded
the ambience was quite nice too and the ball pit be quite fun for the kids!
