These productions are bursting with creativity, blending classic tales with a hilarious Singaporean twist.
We’ve enjoyed *Pinocchio* (2022), *Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs* (2023), and *Wizard of Oz* (2024), each one a delightful, laugh-out-loud experience. If you have kids and haven’t been, you’re missing out—go see it! Highly recommended for a fun, family-friendly holiday treat.

My family and I have been attending Wild Rice productions for many years—even before they moved to their current venue at Funan. We still remember watching Emily of Emerald Hill at Jubilee Hall in Raffles Hotel.
The Funan theatre is compact and well laid out, with good views from all levels. The nearly-in-the-round setup draws the audience into the performance in a way that’s different from traditional staging.
In December 2024, we watched The Wizard of Oz, which had a local twist with Yishun’s own Dorothy. Performances, music, and choreography were strong. We also appreciated the relaxed format for neurodiverse audiences—credit to Wild Rice for making their shows more accessible.
08/03/2025: Red Riding Hood was a fun production. Sitting in the front stalls made it even more engaging.
17/05/2025: Tunggu Sekejap: The P. Ramlee Suite included a live string orchestra—well put together and emotionally resonant.
14/06/2025: Murder in the Waiting Room had tight pacing, sharp writing, and a strong cast. Another solid evening with Wild Rice.

So magical theatre experience for my family last Sunday as we watched the show "Wizard of Oz". They connected the original story to our current happenings in the world or more like I say in Singapore. Yes. The script and story are aligned to Singapore as the main character (Dorothy) is from Yishun and got transported to the world of Oz. Beautiful story and actors who made it so special. Kids will definitely love this, and I also encourage this kind of experience to be a gift to your loved ones this Christmas season. 10/10

Watched Wizard of Oz last week and it was truly a mesmerising performance with many funny local references which made it very relatable. Amazing casting too. Enjoyed it 100%! I want to also applaud the accommodations made for my elderly grandmother who cannot climb steps. When I asked one of the staff if there was a lift to access the pews, I was swiftly and politely guided towards a staff-only back door and lift so that my grandmother did not need to climb the steps. During the intermission, they also allowed her to use the staff toilet nearby, greatly reducing her need to move around and navigate the narrow seats and steps. Really appreciate the friendly faces and accommodations made. Thank you so much Wildrice. Amazing 25 years ago, amazing today. ❤️

What a gorgeous theatre; clearly a lot of thought went into the design. Definitely the best I’ve experienced. The acoustics are perfect.
Very convenient, it being housed in a high-traffic mall, with plenty of bus routes, a short walk to/from City Hall MRT and ample parking space.

Watched Don Giovanni by The Opera People. Oh my goodness. My first opera and i LOVED it! Also my first time in Wild Rice @ Funan and i must say it is a wholly unique experience for me. No regrets paying more for front of stage seats - it felt immersive, and being able to see the actors more subtle expressions or gestures up close just added to the already outstanding performance!

Excellent play! The actors, costumes, all were perfect. The play is adapted from the French original version and it’s done brilliantly and with taste. We had a very good time and highly recommend to anyone (18+) to come and see it.
