Since the price hike, it’s hard to ignore the changes. Plates now range from $1.5 to $3 (before GST and service charge), with most items on the higher end. There are barely any options at the lower price point. It’s clearly affecting the atmosphere too. The once a busy spot, it’s now quieter with fewer customers. The charm of affordable sushi is fading, and it seems like regulars might start looking elsewhere. for a couple of seconds. The place is much quieter, and the value just isn't there anymore.

Quite bitterly disappointed. It was awesome value and I went in without thinking much. Back in 2019 I got myself so stuffed with amazing selection but now? Basically everything is some silly cheese stuff for $3-$3.50 a plate. Cheese sushi? Are you serious?
There is no value. Unless you grab one of the premade sets - then kinda makes sense. Kinda. Place is almost empty, used to be full and you had to wait for a while to get a table. Disappointed
Also, out of nowhere they added 10% service charge and GST. I thought that gst is included, turns out its not. But the service charge? For me serving myself? Wow. Not coming back for sure

Horribly planned out ‘all you can eat’.
My friend and I paid $30.90 for the ‘White Day All You Can Eat’ exclusive. After 30 minutes, we got a whopping total of 8 white plates, 4 of which were just a plate of cold fried tasteless chicken. There was virtually nothing coming out, except black and yellow plates. Staff were clearly stressed out and frantically trying to answer to everyone’s requests, be it for refunds, enquiries, or orders for miso soup.
I’m from Taiwan and Japan. I am in no way comparing anything, but you could say I had some expectations for 爭鮮 carried over from my past experiences with your Taiwan outlets. I am utterly and completely disappointed; my friend and I are musicians and we work part-time at F&B stores, hence we understand the struggle, but this is just too far, and makes it feel like a scam on you guys’ part. I hope you’re able to understand my point of view in this matter. Would really hope that I could get a reply regarding this matter, as both my friend and I, and a few other individuals present in the Funan outlet dated today, March 11th, 4:15pm, feel wronged by this. It’s just not the way to conduct business, and makes Sushi Express seem like a greedy and money-hungry company that defiles sushi and does not have their customers’ wishes in mind. I love eating Sushi Express. I really do hope that you guys do not close down your Singapore outlets, like many other F&B chains have.

Misleading promotion, if not ready to serve for the buffet pls DO NOT post this kind if misleading promotion…. Visit Funan outlet, The cashier told me that manager told her the buffet no more, is so disappointed….stated buffet close before the time last is 5pm…. Went at 4.40pm said close.

Prices have increased while the quality has deteriorated. I find the variety has decreased and the portions are also significantly smaller. What used to be a great place to fill your stomach with value has become a thing in the past. Nevertheless, if you are craving sushi and want to have a quick fix, I think it’s still a place you can consider for now.

My friend and I dine in at the Funan outlet. We’re carrying 2 bags of cake in our hand therefore we placed it on the table, we’re asked not placed it on the table therefore we proceed to place it on the chair next to us. There were no customers requiring the seats at that point of time.
When I raised up my hand to request for assistance, Staff Ratna ignored me although I was in-front of her. It causes dissatisfaction and disappointment on her service to the customer. After that, she spoke in Malay with her colleague Staff Yanti, that she had told us to not place the bag of cake we had on the chair. So Staff Yanti was rude and told us to put the bags away in their own language. She did not offer any alternative and we have no place to put our food. Does she expect us to put our food on the floor ?even there is no space to put our stuff on the floor. Hence we couldn’t continue the dining and left the restaurant.
The restaurant seems like lack of staff but it is not right to provide such bad customer services. It is really disappointing and I had never encounter such customer service from Sushi express before

Went there a week back. Short staffed but the aunty there is very kind and strives her best to try and serve everyone quickly with a smile. Quite empty and quiet. Good atmosphere for studying and eating if you need to.

I was there today then there was a lion dance engaged by the shop. Happy to see it
It is not too crowded during off peak hours.
The restaurant was clean. Just another sushi restaurant, not high end, but consider it a wallet friendly for average people.
